Immanuel Lutheran School exists to provide an atmosphere where Jesus' love and forgiveness are taught and practiced, so that all may grow in wisdom and faith. About ILS Immanuel Lutheran School was founded in 1947. ILS is a nationally accredited, Christian school serving students from 3 yrs. of age through the eighth grade. ILS can serve up to 270 children on its 12 acre campus. ILS school families generally live in the Bartlett, Cordova, Arlington, and Memphis area. A few of our students live in Germantown and Collierville. Philisophy of Immanuel Lutheran School We believe. . . Jesus Christ is Lord of Immanuel Lutheran School, and all our relationships are rooted in the love of Christ. We are serving God by assisting parents in the important work of teaching and nurturing children. Ephesians 6:4 reads, "…bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
The Holy Spirit is with us as we guide our students into a growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
AIMS A. To provide thorough instruction in all the state-required elementary subjects in harmony with God's Word, so that students may acquire the skills and learning tools necessary for success in high school and beyond. B. To provide thorough instruction in God's Word so that children may know, trust, and believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior and strive to conduct themselves in a manner pleasing to Him. C. To partner with the Christian home and church in educating children to follow Jesus so that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, they may become blessings in their homes, joyful servants in their churches, and worthy citizens of their communities. Early Childhood - Preschool 3 and Preschool 4 Preschool is the first step in providing a strong foundation for the development of young children spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our program is designed to nurture an excitement for learning, while stimulating children’s awareness of themselves and the world around them. Components of the preschool program include: worship activities, Bible stories, language arts readiness, mathematics readiness, music and art activities, computer awareness, health awareness, physical and rhythmic activities, beginning science concepts, and social environment. Elementary - Grades K-5 The elementary program is the second step in the well-rounded development of children. It challenges students in a supportive atmosphere, while building the foundation for upper level courses. Components of the elementary program include: religion, social studies, handwriting, spelling handwriting, mathematics, music, reading/readiness, physical education, science/health, English, art, and computer. Middle School - Grades 6-8 The middle school program is the third step in a student’s spiritual, academic, social, emotional, and physical development; building upon a solid foundation established in early childhood, expanding in elementary school, and preparing for the rigors of secondary education. The following components are included in seventh grade: religion, English, Tennessee history, American history, pre-algebra, algebra, science, Spanish, physical education, computer, art, and music. |
