DRESS CODE: PreK-8th Grade

Students are expected to dress neatly, modestly, appropriately, and to be clean and well groomed at school and school-sponsored activities. ILS students take pride in their appearance and present themselves as a God-pleasing witness to others. 

Students will follow the following guidelines:

ILS GENTLY USED UNIFORM SALE (August and March)

  • Short or long-sleeved polo shirts, navy, gold/ yellow, black, or gray with Immanuel Lutheran School monogram.

  • Boys and Girls: Khaki or navy blue pants or shorts in relaxed or straight fit styles

  • PreK-First grade: Khaki or navy blue pull-on shorts or pants are acceptable.

  • Boys: Navy blue sweater vest (with school monogram) and white button down shirt.

  • Girls PreK-8:  Plaid skirt or skorts (no more than 2” above the knee).

  • Girls PreK-8:  Navy blue or plaid jumper.

  • Girls Prek-8: Navy polo dress with ILS monogram

  • Optional: Navy sweatshirt with ILS monogram / Navy fleece jacket with ILS monogram

*All shirts must have ILS Monogram unless being worn under a jumper or sweater vest.

Other Dress Code Items

  • Grades 3-8: Belt will be solid black or brown leather with no ornamentation.

  • Shoes must be athletic/tennis shoes.

  • Solid color socks must be seen. (Navy blue, black, white or grey)

  • Leggings or tights worn under skirts or jumpers must be navy, black, grey or white.

  • Navy blue cardigan sweater (with or without Monogram) is acceptable.

  • Long sleeves under polo must be same color.

General Guidelines

  • Jumper, skirt, skorts, and shorts hemlines should be NO more than 2” above the knee.

  • Undershirt must be white, light grey, or black.

  • Grades 3-8 must wear a belt with pants or shorts.

  • Sweatshirts, sweaters, or jackets with an approved ILS logo may be worn during the day in the classroom. 

  • Spirit wear including hoodies may be worn on designated Black and Gold or spirit wear days.

  • Hair is to be neat and clean, natural colors and not causing any distraction to the learning environment. Hair must be out of eyes, any hair past eyebrows must be pulled back off the face.

  • Hats, caps, or other headgear are not allowed. Hoods must be down when in the building.

  • Piercings should be limited to the ear only.

  • Jewelry and make-up should be non-distracting, and not excessive.  

  • NO tattoos are permitted.

  • Personal hygiene is encouraged.

  • Perfumes, colognes, or lotions should be limited to mild scents and not be excessive.

  • PreK and Kindergarten students should have a clean set of clothing in their book bag including socks, underwear, pants/shorts, and shirt. 

This list is not an all-inclusive list, but serves as a guideline for appropriate dress.  The school retains the right to make adjustments as needed during the school year.
