Program Components
Christian Faith Studies - Every class has scheduled time for Bible study; however, Christian values are lived throughout the day. Memory work and weekly chapel services are components of Immanuel’s Christian emphasis.
Reading - Reading skills are used by students to acquire knowledge not only in reading and literature, but in every subject across the curriculum. For this reason, Immanuel devotes time, resources, and creativity to encouraging children to become lifelong readers. The Accelerated Reader and IXL individualized learning programs are used to supplement classroom reading instruction and to encourage reading outside of the school day.
Writing/English Grammar - At each age, students are challenged to communicate through writing. Our program gives students the tools to craft increasingly complex compositions. Students share creative writing through poems, stories, and even songs.
Mathematics - From K – 8th grade, the Savvas-Envision Math program is used to teach students in a logical sequence that introduces new concepts, reviews previously taught material, and frequently assesses students’ progress.
Science/Social Studies - All students are encouraged to develop higher level thinking skills to process and apply what they are learning. Science allows children to continually emphasize God’s wondrous handiwork and marvelous creation. Social studies provides varied experiences in areas such as history, geography, and culture. The Science/Knowledge Fair gives an opportunity to explore more about these subjects.
Art - Immanuel’s students receive art instruction weekly. Students’ work is displayed during the spring Fine Arts Festival. Students’ artwork is also entered in local contests.
Music - All ages from PK-3 – 8th grade receives music instruction. The children participate in a fall or spring musical as well as in Christmas programs. All 1st – 8th graders participate in choir and are invited to sing at special events both on and off campus.
Physical Education - Immanuel’s students are given the skills, strategies, and motivation to be physically active and maintain good health throughout their lifetimes.
Technology - Today’s students must become familiar with using the computer for research and to craft documents. Classroom teachers use video streaming and smartboard technology to enhance learning. Computer lab instruction focuses on typing skills, safe internet research, and applications such as Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint. New reading, social studies, and science textbooks include online components that can be utilized during the school day or researched at home. Students in 1st - 8th grade are issued a Chromebook each year.
Online Grading System - Immanuel uses the online grading system PraxiSchool to keep students and parents informed. Parents are able to track progress, review assignments, and monitor behavior logs wherever they connect to the internet. FACTS also provides calendars, menus, and other announcements.
Library - Immanuel’s library supports the curriculum by providing students with a basic understanding of how to locate information through technology and print items. Elementary students visit the library weekly for mini-lessons on reference and research skills. During class time, they are allowed to check out books from over 6,000 items. Open library opportunities are also provided during every school day. The library supports the web-based Accelerated Reader (AR) Enterprise program. The AR program is a reading comprehension builder with online tools for teachers, parents, and students.
Athletics - Students may participate in sports beginning in kindergarten. Athletic competition offers boys and girls the opportunity to play their best, play hard, play fairly, and have fun. Team unity is stressed in every sport. The games involve strategy, ability, dedication, and perseverance. They also require a proper understanding of Christian character development. Immanuel’s teams exemplify Christian sportsmanship toward their opponents as well as toward one another.
Fall Sports available are Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball (grades 5-8)
Spring Sports available are Basketball (grades 1-4), T-Ball , Softball, Track, Baseball

STEMM Lab - This project based program from Creative Learning Systems is grounded in research to give students the framework and tools to discover, create and explore the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Extended Care Program - The before and after school program continues the safe environment students experience during the school day. The program offers after-school snack, indoor/outdoor play, games, art, and other activities. The program is available from 6:30 AM - 7:45 AM and again from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM.
